McAllen - Alfredo Vega Vega, 82, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Retama Manor Nursing Center of McAllen. Alfredo was born May 11, 1932 in China, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. He is the son of the late Dionicio and the late Antonia (Vega) Vega.
He is survived by his wife: Josefina (Ibarra) Vega; seven children: Jose Vega, Maria A. (Efrailan) Marin, Dora E. Vega, Elvia (Juan) Alaniz, Romelia Vega, Esmeralda Vega and Alfredo Vega, Jr. all of McAllen; five brothers: Candelario Vega of Mission, Ramon N. Vega, Salvador Vega, Antonio Vega and Dionicio Vega, Jr. all of China, NL, Mexico; four sisters: Maria de Jesus Vega de Vera of China, NL, Mexico, Alicia Vega de Rodriguez of McAllen, Ofelia Vega de Barrientos of Reynosa, Tamps., Mexico and Guillermina Vega de Gonzalez of China, NL, Mexico; 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm Sunday, July 20, 2014 and Monday, July 21, 2014 with a rosary being recited at 7:00 pm at Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church in McAllen. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen. www.riverafuneralhomes.net
