Alicia T. Bocanegra

McAllen - Alicia T. Bocanegra, 97,entered eternal rest on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 surrounded by her family at her residence in McAllen. Alicia was born on Dec. 3, 1920 in McAllen, Texas to Reynaldo and Manuela (Sanchez) Torres. Alicia was a lifelong resident of McAllen and member of Sacred Heart Church in McAllen. Alicia enjoyed watching sporting events with her family. Most recently, she was following the World Cup on TV. She loved gathering with family to watch football-the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Longhorns and TCU HornedFrogs were her favorite teams. She enjoyed listening to jazz music. Alicia was a devoted mother and grandmother. She lived her life to the fullest.
Alicia was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter-Blanca A., her twin sister-Frances, her brothers-Arturo and Ramiro and her sister-Sister Mary Reynaldo.
Left to cherish her memory are her children - Gloria A. (Ramiro+) Flores, Alfredo (Rachel) Bocanegra, Blanca A. (Ruben) Castilla, Criselda A. Bocanegra; siblings - Margarita, Reynaldo, Federico, Heriberto, Adolfo, Efrain, Rene; 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Juani Martinez for providing care to our beloved mother.
A gathering of family and friends will take place on Friday, July 13, 2018 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm with the recital of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm at Rivera Funeral Home, 1901 Pecan Blvd. in McAllen. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Church in McAllen. Interment will follow at La Piedad Cemetery.
