Alton - Ernesto Vargas, 61, passed away on Monday January 1, 2018 at Mission Regional Medical Center. He was born on Tuesday February 7, 1956 in Mission, the son of Ernesto and Crisanta (Gonzalez) Vargas. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Raul Vargas.
He is survived by his children: Juan Pablo Vargas, Perla De La Torre, Ernesto Vargas, III and Leroy Vargas; brothers: Reymundo Vargas, Gilbert Vargas, Eduardo Vargas, Jasper Vargas and Vicente Vargas; sisters: Linda Mercado, Helen Pacheco and Criselda Campos; grandchildren; Brandon Vargas, Brittany Vargas, Derik Vargas, Deandra Vargas, Amber Izaguirre, Aullet Longoria, Elio Longoria, Breana Vargas, Ernesto Vargas, IV, Sofia Vargas and Arabella Vargas; great-grandchild: Derik Vargas, Jr.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm Thursday, January 4, 2018. Chapel service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, January 5, 2018 at Rivera Funeral Home, L.L.C of Mission. Interment will follow at San Jose Cemetery in Mission. Service arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rivera Funeral Home, L.L.C of Mission. www.riverafuneralhomes.net
