McAllen - Esther E. Garza, 97, entered eternal rest on Monday, October 23, 2017 in Edinburg. Esther was born March 30, 2017 in Kingsville, Texas to Nazario and Leonarda (Acevedo) Escochea.

She is survived by her children: Minerva G. Estrada of McAllen, Lizandro Garza, Jr. of McKinney and Maxine Martinez of Omaha, NE; brother: Nazario Escochea of McAllen; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Rivera Funeral Home, 1813 N. Conway Ave. of Mission. A Prayer of the Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Wednesday night, October 25, 2017, also at Rivera Funeral Home in Mission.

Visitation from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 26, 2017 will be held at Rivera Funeral Home, 1901 Pecan Blvd. of McAllen. Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 1:30 pm at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in McAllen.
