Josefa Arenas

MCALLEN- Josefa Arenas, 88, passed away on January 16, 2015 in Rockwall, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband: Marcelo Arenas and daughter: Celinda (Pebbles) Arenas.

She is survived by her children: Leticia " Letty" (Steven) Armon, Eloy (Janie) Arenas, Norma Lozano; 6 grandchildren: Austin & Justin Armon, Eloy Jr. Jaime, Albert and Ashley Arenas, and 2 great grandchildren, siblings: Lencho and Lupe Muniz.

Josefa Arenas was a wonderful caring, compassionate, and an extremely considerate person. She was born in Edinburg, Texas and had lived in McAllen all of her life. She was very active with the Childrens Helping Hands and held many different positions. She was also, very active with her church: St. Joseph The Worker Church for over 30 years. She held different positions in with the Lady's Sodality, as well as President of this organization. She had recently moved to Rockwall, Texas to be with her daughter and her family. Josefa went in peace to be with the Lord.

Viewing will be held from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm Monday, January 19, 2015 at Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in McAllen. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission.
