Juanita Valdez

Mission - Juanita Valdez, 67, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at her home in Mission surrounded by her loving family. Juanita was born March 15, 1949 in McAllen. She is the daughter of the late Preciliano and the late Inez (Esparza) Villegas. She was employed with McAllen ISD having worked at McAllen High School until she retired in 2014.

She is survived by her son: Elias Valdez, III; daughter: Elisa Lopez; six sisters: Eusebia Lucio, Margarita Alcantar, Preciliana Sanchez, Irma Estela Vargas, Julia Ramos and Maria Alicia Ordones; two brothers: Rogelio Villegas and Ernesto Villegas; grandson: Felipe Lopez, III; granddaughter: Delilah Lopez; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm Thursday, May 12, 2016 with a Holy Rosary being recited at 7:00 pm at Rivera Funeral Home, 1901 Pecan Blvd., McAllen. A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 10:00 am Friday, May 13, 2016 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 2209 Kendlewood Ave., McAllen.
