McAllen - Maria Elia Cepeda, 69, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at home in McAllen. Maria was born September 19, 1947 in McAllen, TX. She is the daughter of the late Leon and the late Herminia (Olvera) Vijella. She is preceded in death by a son: Andres Cepeda, Jr., father: Leon Vijella and mother: Hermninia (Ochoa) Vijella.
She is survived by her husband: Andres Cepeda; three children: Alma (Cornelius) Smith, Rosa (Damaris) Cepeda and Rafael (Jennifer) Cepeda; one sister: Guadalupe (Jose) Olvera; five grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm Friday, December 30, 2016 with a Holy Rosary being recited at 7:00 pm at Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, December 31, 2016 at St Joseph the Worker Church in McAllen. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen. www.riverafuneralhomes.net
