SUSANA RAQUEL ALFARO - McAllen
Susana R. Alfaro was called home by the Lord on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at DHR in Edinburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jorge M. Alfaro (Papi George), her parents, Antonio and Raquel Suarez, and her brother, Alfonso. She is survived by her two sons, Jorge Armando (Elisa) and Carlos David (Stephnie) Alfaro of McAllen, her siblings, Carmen, Antonio, Alfredo, and Alejandro (Laura) Suarez, and four grandchildren, Efrain, Fernanda, Hector, and Ella, and her loyal and faithful pet, Millie.
Aside from being a fantastic mother to her two sons, Susi cared for, and touched the lives of hundreds of children for over 25 years at her Susana Alfaro Group Day Care Home where she shared duties with her mother, Raquel (Mami Linda), and her husband (Papi George). She had the blessing of experiencing countless first words and watching many first steps during the years. She loved the children under her care more than they will ever know and was heartbroken when many of them started school, or moved away. One of her greatest joys came this past January when she was invited to, and attended the wedding of the first baby she ever took care of.
She was very involved and served in many of the clubs and organizations at Holy Spirit Catholic Church for more than 30 years including the Spanish Mass Choir, the Guadalupanas and the Small Communities of Faith Prayer Groups, among others.
A mass celebrating her life officiated by Msgr. Louis Brum will be held on Tuesday, July 10 at 7:00pm at Holy Spirit Catholic Church of McAllen (2201 Martin Ave) followed by reception in the Parish Hall. The mass will be preceded by a rosary beginning at 6:30pm.

Susana R. Alfaro fue llamada a casa por Nuestro Señor el martes 3 de julio de 2018 en el DHR en Edinburg. Fue precedida en la muerte por su esposo, Jorge M. Alfaro (Papi George), sus padres, Antonio y Raquel Suarez, y su hermano, Alfonso. Le sobreviven sus dos hijos, Jorge Armando (Elisa) y Carlos David (Stephnie) Alfaro de McAllen, sus hermanos, Carmen, Antonio, Alfredo y Alejandro (Laura) Suarez y cuatro nietos, Efrain, Fernanda, Hector y Ella, y su mascota leal, Millie.
Aparte de haber sido una madre fantastica para sus hijos, Susi cuido y toco las vidas de cientos de niños durante mas de 25 años en su centro Susana Alfaro Day Care Group Home con la ayuda su madre, Raquel (Mami Linda), y su esposo (Papi George). Ella tuvo la bendicion de escuchar las primeras palabras y ver los primeros pasos de muchos de los pequeños bajo su cuidado durante esos años. Ella quiso a los niños que cuido mas de lo ellos pudieran imaginar y sufrio mucho cuando muchos de ellos empezaron la escuela, o se cambiaron de domicilio. Uno de sus gozos mas grandes vino este Enero pasado cuando fue invitada y asistio a la boda de el primer bebe que ella cuido.
Susi participo y presto su servicio a muchos de los grupos y organizaciones de la iglesia Holy Spirit por mas de 30 años incluyendo al Coro de la Misa de Español, Grupo de Guadalupanas y grupos de oracion de Pequeñas Comunidades de Fe, entre otras.
Se celebrara una misa en celebracion de su vida oficiada por el Msgr. Louis Brum el martes 10 de julio a las 7:00pm en la iglesia Holy Spirit de McAllen (2201 Martin) seguida por una recepcion en el Salon de la Parroquia. La misa sera precedida por un Rosario comenzando a las 6:30pm.
