McAllen - Mrs. Celerina De La Fuente, 85, entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 15, 2019 at Edinburg Regional Medical Center. She was born on September 6, 1933 in Durango, Mexico to Cruz and Trinidad (Enriques) Morales. Celerina was a long time resident of McAllen and attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church for many years.
"Wela", as she was lovingly called by her family, loved to cook and spend time with them. Her family especially grandchildren enjoyed spending time with Tio and Tia at different places to eat and shop. Wal-Mart was a favorite shopping place and also eating at Taco Cabana or Chinese Food. Celerina truly enjoyed life to its fullest and will be truly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Raul De La Fuente; and seven siblings.
Left to cherish her memory are her two sons: Saul (Alicia) De La Fuente and Roel (Yadira) De La Fuente; a sister: Hermelinda Martinez; grandchildren: Valerie De La Fuente, Adrian De La Fuente, Bri Anna Lyn De La Fuente, Ashley Rodriguez and Andres Rodriguez, Jr.; great-grandchildren: Aiden Michael Rodriguez, David Adam Garcia and Abram Elijah Rodriguez.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Rivera Funeral Home, 1901 Pecan Blvd. in McAllen with a Celebration of Life Service at :00 pm to be officiated by Monsignor Juan Nicolau. Cremation service has been entrusted to the care of Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen and will take place at a later date. www.riverafuneralhomes.net
