Jose Cruz Lopez

Mission - Mr. Jose Cruz Lopez, 58, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 21, 2019 in Mission, Texas. Jose was born on September 14, 1960 in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico to Otilio Lopez and Juliana (Salazar) Lopez. He was a former resident of Mission and had lived in the state of Florida for the past 24 years. Jose had a passion for carpentry, being a very good handyman, and he knew a lot about ceramic tile. He enjoyed his life to the fullest. He was preceded in death by his mother and more recently his father in January of 2019.

He is survived by his companion: Juana Martinez; two sons: Jose Lopez, Jr. and Alex Lopez; a daughter: Julie Lopez; step-mother: Hortencia H. Lopez; siblings: Jesus Lopez, Casimiro Lopez, Antonio Lopez, Otilio Lopez, Jr., Maria Lopez and Isabel Lopez; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm Saturday, February 23, 2019, with a Religious Service at 7:00 pm at Rivera Funeral Home, L.L.C., 1813 N. Conway Ave. in Mission. Cremation services have been entrusted to the care of Rivera Funeral Home, L.L.C. of Mission and will follow at a later date. www.riverafuneralhomes.net
