Maria D. Torres

Pharr ~ Maria D. Torres, 93, entered eternal rest on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at her residence in Pharr surrounded by her loving family. Maria was born on Monday, September 27, 1926 in Lyford, Texas, the daughter of Roman and Josefina (Alanis) Gomez. She was a resident of Pharr for most of her life. Her life was her family and she loved family gatherings. She raised her children and instilled in them the love and faith of God. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sons: Mario Ramirez, Joe Ramirez and Hector Garcia.

She is survived by her children: Roberto Ramirez, Adrian Ramirez, Janie Lopez and Flora Fagan.; 19 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm Tuesday, January 7, 2020 with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm at Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen. Graveside services will be held at 9:30 am on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 with interment following at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Service arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen.
