Pedro McDonald Jr. passed in peace at the age of 75 surrounded by his wife of 54 years and his six children. He is survived by his wife, Ludivina Saldivar McDonald and his children Nora Longoria (Xavier), Pete McDonald III (Patricia), Nancy Yado (Ricardo), Oscar McDonald (Veronica), Nicolas McDonald (Jeanne), Brandon McDonald, and nine grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Dora Nichols (Leslie), Yolanda Bell (Allen), Graciela McDonald, and Delfina McDonald. Pedro is preceded in death by his father Pedro McDonald, his mother Dora Garcia McDonald, and his sister Arminda Vasquez. He lived a full life and made many lasting relationships. He was always a businessman at heart. Stories about all his experiences were endless from his shoeshine days in downtown McAllen at a very young age to his continuing in his father’s footsteps by taking over the family business Pete’s Taxi. He always had a passion for working in the produce industry and started as a truck driver, but built his business McDonald’s Produce with the help of his wife and children. Work ethic is a value that was never lacking in the McDonald family thanks to the values he instilled. Always a jokester, his grandchildren loved to hear his stories and he always had a joke to share. Many of those stories and jokes can now be carried down for generations by his grandchildren. He will be missed by many, but is now in a better place. Rest in peace!
