Vicente Avalos

Mr. Vicente Avalos was born on July 19, 1929 in Nada, Texas. Vicente entered eternal rest on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at his home in McAllen. Vicente,just three weeks ago, celebrated his 90th birthday. Vicente was a resident of McAllen for more than 30 years. He was a past resident of Aurora, Illinois. Vicente was a hardworking man. A family man. Always provided for his family. Vicente was very talented, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, doing mechanic work on anything and everything. Vicente was a kindhearted man, always received everyone with a welcoming smile. Vicente truly enjoyed life to its fullest. He will be dearly missed by his family and those that came to know him. 

Vicente was preceded in death by his parents- Felicitos Avalos; his mother Conchita Bernal; two sisters; one brother; His daughter Almira "Ginny" Avalos. 

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 70 years- Almira Hernandez Avalos; Sons- Omar and (Aida) Avalos, Vicente and (Judy) Avalos; one sister Eufemia; eight grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. 

A gathering of family and friends will be on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Rivera Funeral Home,1901 Pecan Blvd. in McAllen from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with the recital of the Holy Rosary to begin at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 9, 2019 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph the Worker Church in McAllen. Burial will follow to la Piedad cemetery in McAllen.
