Mr. Arturo Gilberto Alcantar,62,entered eternal rest on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 surrounded by his family at his home in McAllen. Arturo was born on March 6, 1956 in McAllen to Gilberto and Juanita (Ramirez) Alcantar. He lived in McAllen all of his life. Arturo was a family man who enjoyed baseball with his sons and spending time with his wife,his children and grandchildren. A devoted husband,father,grandfather,great-grandfather brother, uncle and friend. Arturo was a hard worker his entire life, humble and soft spoken, Arturo truly enjoyed his life.
Arturo was preceded in death by his parents and two nephews
Left to cherish Arturo's memory is his wife Cynthia B.Alcantar, his children-Cynthia L. Contreras, Arturo E. Alcantar (Dina), Eric M. ALcantar (Eunice); Siblings-Aurora Gomez (+Samuel), Herman Alcantar (Olivia), Roy Gomez (Amy); his grandhildren Cynthia, Dimas, Moses Salazar, Easton and Austin Alcantar; Great Grandchildren Brycen Salazar and Atarah Hernandez.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Rivera Funeral Home,1901 Pecan Blvd. from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Memorial service will be at 7:00 PM by the family pastor.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Rivera Funeral Home in McAllen.
