Carmen Soto Belmares

McAllen - Mrs. Carmen Soto Belmares, 87, entered eternal rest on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at the Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. Carmen was born on October 27, 1930 in Falfurrias, Texas to Filemon Soto and Anastacia (Alaniz) Soto. Shen was a long time resident of McAllen. Carmen was a loving and caring mother and grandmother to her family. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. She truly enjoyed life to its fullest. Carmen will forever be in our hearts. She was preceded in death by her husband: Mr. Sotero Belmares; her son: Abel Belmares; brothers: Abel Soto and Alfredo Soto.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Sotero Belmares, Jr. and his wife Lisa, Norma Linda Osornia and her husband Fernando, Maria del Carmen Leal and her husband Ruben; also eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends will take place on Monday, September 3, 2018 at Rivera Funeral Home in McAllen from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM with the recital of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 10:30 AM at with Monsignor Juan Nicolau officiating at Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen. Interment will follow at La Piedad Cemetery in McAllen. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Rivera Funeral Home in McAllen. www.riverafuneralhomes.net
