Isabel M. Chapa

Mission - Isabel M. Chapa, 81, entered eternal rest on Sunday, October 7, 2018 surrounded by her family at the Amara Hospice facility in Edinburg. Isabel was born in San Antonio, Texas on June 12, 1937 to Victor and Angelita Munoz. She was a long time resident of Mission. She was also a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church for many years. Isabel volunteered for many years at the Sharyland School District. She was a loving housewife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mr. Raul Chapa; and her daughter, Maria Elena Chapa.

Left to cherish her memory is her son: Raul Jr. (Suzanna) Chapa of Austin; her daughter: Sylvia (Jose A.) Lopez of Sharyland; her grandchildren: Jose A. (Veronica) Lopez, III and Juan A. (Meg) Lopez; two great-grandchildren: Jose A. Lopez IV and Marcos A. Lopez; her siblings: Aurora Perez, Consuelo Cantu and Raul Cantu.

A gathering of family and friends will take place on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Rivera Funeral Home, LLC, 1813 N. Conway Ave. in Mission from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with the recital of the Holy Rosary to begin at 7:00 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the St. Paul's Catholic Church in Mission at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission.
