Otila Cortez

Otila Cortez passed away on Sunday February 4. 2018 at her residence in McAllen surrounded by her loving family. Otila was born on December 6, 1934 in Lyford, Texas to Julian and Adelaida Olivares. She was a long time resident of McAllen and was a member of Iglesia Biblica Church of McAllen for many years. She was a woman of strong faith and a loving mother grandmother, great grandmother and a friend to many.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Enrique Cortez, and several siblings.
Otila will be dearly missed by her family and those that came to know her.
Left to cherish her memory are her children; Leticia (Rudy) Serna, Lilia Sotelo, Esther Braden, Enrique Cortez,Jr., siblings Eduvina Andrade, Ninfa Kalifa, Noemi Rodriguez, Idalia Zerrato, Guadalupe "Lupe" Alanis, 12 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Visitation will take place Monday February 5, 2018 at Rivera Funeral Home,1901 Pecan from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Celebration of Life service will take place on Tuesday February 6, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Rivera Funeral Home. Interment will follow to Valley Memorial Gardens at 1:00 PM
