McAllen - Reynaldo Rangel, 63, entered eternal rest on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at McAllen Medical Center. He was born January 20, 1955 in McAllen, Texas. The son of the late Humberto and Lydia (Muñiz) Rangel.
Mr. Rangel was a disabled veteran having served his country proudly in the US Army. He was a retired postal worker and had worked at the McAllen Post Office for many years. He was past president of the National Association of Letter Carriers.
Reynaldo loved hunting, fishing, camping and bar-b-cuing with family and friends. A loving husband, proud father and grandfather. A great teacher to his grandchildren, instilling values that would be useful for them to become better in life. He was preceded in death by his father: Humberto Rangel.
He is survived by his wife: Noelia (Flores) Rangel; two daughters: Maritza (Barry) Pruitt of Dayton, TX and Monica (Juan) Zamora of McAllen; four grandchildren: Matthew Zamora, Brittany Pruitt, Joaquin Pruitt and Isabella Zamora; his mother: Lydia Rangel of McAllen; eight siblings: Roberto Rangel of Houston, Sylvia Garcia of McAllen, Edna Aquilar, Sandra Sanchez, Anna Rangel all three of Mission, Sonia Rangel of Austin, Humberto Rangel, Jr. of California and Tomas Rangel of Mission.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 with a recital of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm at Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen. Celebration of Life Service will be held at 9:30 am on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen with Deacon Gamboa officiating. Interment with full military honors by post 8788 will follow at 11:00 am at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
