Ada Rodriguez, a woman of strong values and a generous spirit whose life touched family, friends, and the McAllen community for decades, passed away on July 14, 2026, at the age of 71.
Born on January 3, 1955, in McAllen, Texas, Ada built her life in the community she knew best, surrounded by family, longtime friends, and familiar traditions. She was known for her strong personality and loving spirit. She held firm perspectives while remaining equally kind.
Ada graduated from McAllen High School and went on to build a life marked by dedication and service. She spent more than 35 years working for McAllen CISD, where her commitment and reliability made her a respected and familiar presence. Her long career reflected not only her strong work ethic but also her devotion to the students, staff, and community she served. She was someone who could always be counted on, and her many years of service stood as a testament to her character.
Ada found joy in the simple pleasures that brought people together. Family was at the center of her life. She enjoyed playing lotería with her family and was an enthusiastic soccer fan whose favorite team was Club América. Her pastimes reflected both her lively spirit and her love of competition.
Ada was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Raul Rodriguez.
She is survived by her sons, Raul (Norma) Rodriguez Jr. and David (Stephanie) Rodriguez. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Ada Garcia, Raul Rodriguez III, David Rodriguez, Daniel Rodriguez, Derrick Rodriguez, Fernanda Salazar, and Damian Rodriguez, as well as her great-grandchildren, Adriel Rodriguez and Adalis Rodriguez. Her family was one of her greatest sources of pride and joy, and her love for them was constant, unwavering, and deeply felt.
Ada will be remembered as a woman of faith who gave generously of her time, her heart, and her encouragement. Whether visiting a friend in the hospital or accompanying family through a difficult situation, she made every effort to be there for others. As a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, she leaves behind a caring legacy of loyalty and a sincere appreciation for those around her.
Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and in the many lives she touched throughout her life. She will always be loved and deeply missed, remembered for her enduring kindness, and never forgotten.
