Ms. Aida Zapata
July 19, 1957 – March 12, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ms. Aida Zapata, age 67, who departed this life on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas.
Aida was born on July 19, 1957, in McAllen, Texas, to Cecilia and Jesus Ayala. She was a loving daughter, aunt, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who dedicated her life to her family. Her warmth, strength, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jesus Ayala; her brothers, Ricardo, Jesus Jr., and Gerardo Ayala; her sister, Criselda Lozano; and her beloved grandson, Audy.
Aida is survived by her beloved mother, Cecilia Ayala; her sister, Maria Ayala; and her cherished daughters: Roberta and Monica Tarvaez, Kelly Zapata, and Aurora and Jason Daigle. She also leaves behind her adored grandchildren: Charleigh, Nathaniel, Carlos III, Clarissa, Hermilo, America, Omar, Michael , Brody, Paige, and Jaysa, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will forever treasure her memory.
My mother was undeniably the most caring, thoughtful and giving person I have ever known. I will forever remember her calling me “Pollina peek a doo” her voice saying those words to me will always and forever be in my mind and my heart.
Aida’s life was a testament to love and resilience, and her presence will remain in our hearts forever.
May she rest in eternal peace.

Thursday, March 20, 2025 – Funeral Services: Doors Open: 10:00 AM; Prayer Service: 11:00 AM – 11:30 AM at Rivera Funeral Home, McAllen; Departure to Cemetery: 1:45 PM; Burial: 2:00 PM at La Piedad Cemetery, McAllen.
