Alberto Gutierrez, 81, passed away on July 15, 2026, in McAllen, Texas. He was born on April 20, 1945, in Mission, Texas, and lived a life marked by devotion, creativity, and quiet strength. He will be remembered with love by all who knew him, and his memory will remain a lasting blessing to his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Adan Gutierrez and Juanita Treviño.
Alberto was a proud United States Marine veteran and a graduate of Mission High School. He carried the values of discipline, loyalty, and service throughout his life, and those who knew him admired the dignity with which he conducted himself. He was also a professional photographer, and through his work he captured moments, memories, and the beauty of everyday life. His creative spirit was evident in the way he saw the world, and he had a gift for noticing details that others might overlook.
He is survived by his daughter, Katrina Marie Gutierrez; siblings, Olga Elvia Alaniz, Elizabeth Vasquez, Jorge T. Gutierrez, Nelda G. Fonseca, Alicia Fuqua, Eva Gutierrez, and Annabel Gutierrez Perez. Alberto cherished his family deeply, and his presence brought comfort, humor, and steadiness to those closest to him. His life was enriched by the bonds he shared with his loved ones, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family.
Those who knew Alberto will remember him as a creative man with a gentle spirit and a strong sense of purpose. He approached life with humility and dedication, and he left behind a legacy of hard work, faith, and love. His talents as a photographer reflected not only his artistic eye but also his appreciation for the people and places that made up his world. He found meaning in both service and expression, and he touched many lives through his example.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 20, 2026, at Rivera Funeral Home of Mission, with the Holy Rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission. Service arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rivera Funeral Home of Mission.
Alberto Gutierrez will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who were blessed to know him. His life was a testament to faith, family, service, and creativity, and his legacy will remain a source of comfort and pride for those he leaves behind. May he rest in eternal peace.
