Mission ~ Alejandrina Lopez, 73, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026 surrounded by her loving family at South Texas Health System McAllen. She was born on Friday, May 30, 1952 in Gomez Palacio, Durango, Mexico , the daughter of Alejandro Hernandez and Maria de Jesus Reyes. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Mauro Lopez Franco.
She will be remembered for her strength and devotion to those she loved, and the quiet grace with which she lived her life.
Alejandrina was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy came from her family. She leaves behind her children: Eduardo Lopez, Sara Lopez, Mauro Lopez, Jr., Daisy M. Lopez, Sharon Hoyuela (Steve Hoyuela), Jeremias Lopez (Dina M. Lopez), and Esmeralda Abalos (Juan Abalos). She is also survived by her brother, Fernando Hernandez; seventeen grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward her legacy of love, resilience, and family unity.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Rivera Funeral Home, 1813 N. Conway Ave., Mission. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am Friday, January 23, 2026 at Mision Voz de Restauracion, 12449 N. Los Ebanos Rd., Mission. Interment will follow at 11:45 am at Garden of Angels Cemetery, 6701 Garden of Angels Blvd., Mission.
Alejandrina’s presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
