Alfonso Martin Martinez

Alfonso M. Martinez, 58, of McAllen, passed away, at home, on Monday, March 20th, 2022. Alfonso was born on July 5, 1964 in McAllen to Norberto and Francisca (nee Riojas) Martinez on July 5th, 1964. 

He graduated from The University of Texas with a degree in Pharmacy and worked at HEB for several years until his disability retirement in 2015.

He was preceded in death by his mother Francisca (1979), father Norberto (1985), sister Raquel (2022), and brother in law Hector Canche (2022).

He is survived by his sisters:  Janie (Hector) Canche, Mary Frances, Ana Maria, and brothers:  Norberto (Mary) and Carlos, nephews: Antonio (Monica) Briones, Rene (Ariana) Briones, and nieces: Christina, Ana Laura (Adam) Alvarado, Mary Frances (Kyle) Devine, and Margot Millie (Kevin) Barrera, grand-nephews: Mason and Ace, grand-nieces:  Aiden, Lola, Elissa, Marlee, Lana, Hailey, Holly,  Luna, Skyla, and Alaïa.

Pallbearers are Norberto, Antonio, Rene, Mason, Adam, and Ace.

Visitation will be on Wednesday ,March 29, 2023  from  4:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm with Rosary at 6:30 p.m., at Rivera's Funeral Home.

Funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows on Thursday, March, 30th, at 10:00 a.m., with burial following at Valley Memorial Gardens.
