Alicia Lozano, 66, peacefully passed away at Doctors Hospital Renaissance in Edinburg, Texas, on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 1:05 PM.

Alicia was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who was a total force of nature. She lived her life with a quiet strength, an incredibly feisty spirit, and a generous heart. She was the absolute anchor and true sidekick to her daughter, Floriza, and was always ready to fiercely love, support, and look out for the best for her family and "her babies." Alicia went everywhere with her daughter and her granddaughter, Jazmin, sharing an unforgettable chemistry as they navigated daily life, shopped, and dined out together.

During her time of sickness, her cherished grandson Jathan truly stepped up to the plate, fiercely worrying over her, calling her constantly, and devoting himself to her daily care by taking her out to eat, handling her grocery shopping, and helping her maintain her home. Her family was her entire world, and she also shared a deeply intertwined, lifelong bond with her grandson Bryan. Alicia was immensely proud of the independent man and business owner Bryan grew up to be at just 20 years old, running his own vintage clothing company, and she was profoundly touched by his quiet generosity. The unwavering devotion of her grandsons brought Alicia immense happiness and peace.

Alicia remained a constant shadow of support at her grandchildren’s extra-curricular activities. Even on her final weekend, she insisted on cheering at her grandson AJ’s tennis tournament, followed by a beautiful Friday and Saturday enjoying great food and service together. She was also incredibly proud to have recently taken a personal tour of the golf course where Jazmin serves as a golf instructor, soaking in every moment of her granddaughter's passion. True to her generous spirit, Alicia’s final act on this earth was to be an organ donor, sharing the gift of life with families who were praying for a miracle. Alicia also had an immense passion for animals and leaves behind a legacy of kindness to her precious fur babies: Pepper, Asher, Coco, Big Baby, Tiny, Barky, Holly, and Amy Rose, who brought endless joy to her days.

Alicia is triumphantly reunited in heaven with her beloved parents, Ventura Navarro and Floriza Navarro; her husband, Armando Lozano; her cherished daughter, Yesenia Lozano, a dedicated nurse who passed away in 2015; and her beloved granddaughter, Jackie Kalifa, who passed away in 2012 and was truly her grandmother’s absolute pride and joy.

Her legacy of love lives on through her devoted family. She is survived by her daughter, Floriza Martinez, and her husband Javier; her son, Armando Lozano Jr, and his wife Yvonne; and her brothers, Jesus Resendez (and his spouse, Flora) and Rafael Resendez (and his spouse, Severina). She is also survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members who loved her dearly.

She leaves a beautiful legacy through her beloved children and grandchildren whom she cherished deeply: Christopher Kalifa, Jathan Martinez, Bryan Kalifa, Jazmin Kalifa, AJ Kalifa, Edward Molina, Floriza Lozano, Armando Lozano III, Andrew Lozano (and his spouse, Dyamante), and Aiden Lozano; and her precious great-grandchildren, Tristan Kalifa, Ellie Lozano, and Lilly Lozano.

The family has chosen direct cremation. A private Celebration of Life to honor Alicia’s vibrant memory will be held at the family home, with details to be shared directly by the family.
