Ana Maria Garcia

Mission ~ Ana Maria Garcia, 66, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at Village Care Nursing Center in McAllen. She was born on Sunday, July 26, 1959, the daughter of Jose Huizar and Paula Banuelos. She was preceded in death by her parents; son: Jesus Fernando Garcia; brothers: Salvador Huizar, Federico Huizar, Ricardo Huizar and Rodolfo Huizar.

She was a social butterfly, she loved talking to everyone, she would start up conversations with everyone very easily. She loved having all her family together, even if they were all squeezed into one small house. She loved to cook and bake, her dishes and cakes were delicious. She also enjoyed volunteering at school throughout her children’s youth. She loved singing especially in the church choir. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Lastly, she enjoyed playing Chalupa with her family and friends all the time.

She is survived by her husband: Fernando Garcia; daughters: Elvia Rodriguez (Lupe Rodriguez) and Vanessa Garcia (Florentino "Jr" Gomez) sisters: Amelia Huizar de Avila and Celia Huizar; grandchildren: Jennifer Bucklew, Angelica Garcia, Isabella Garcia, Megan Garcia, Katelyn Estrada, Pedro Estrada, Kayla Gomez, Katrina Gomez and Elaina Rodriguez.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, January 9, 2026 with a Holy Rosary being recited at 6:30 pm at Rivera Funeral Home, 1813 N. Conway Ave., Mission. Funeral Mass will be held at 8L00 am Saturday, January 10, 2026 at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 621 W. Main Ave., Alton. Interment will follow at Santa Fe Celestial Gardens, 5050 3 Mile Line Rd, Mission.
