Benjamin Charles Jarvis Chavez, 79, of McAllen, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026 in McAllen, Texas. Born on October 9, 1946, in Chihuahua, Mexico, Benjamin was the son of the late Benjamin Charles Jarvis and Alicia Chavez.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Alicia Jarvis; his children, Roger Charles Jarvis, Jason Carlos Jarvis, Brandon Christian Jarvis, and Benjamin Charles Jarvis, Jr.; his nephew, Eric Samuel Jarvis, whom he loved as a son; his grandson, Oliver Benjamin Charles Jarvis; and his sisters, Rosie, Martha, Annie, Linda, and Georgette Haro.
Benjamin was a businessman, engineer, and entrepreneur who dedicated much of his career to the textile manufacturing industry. Through his leadership and commitment, he earned the respect of colleagues and those who had the privilege of working alongside him.
Above all else, Benjamin treasured his family. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose guidance and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Benjamin’s legacy will live on through the lives he touched, the values he instilled, and the countless memories shared with those he loved. His family will forever cherish the time they were blessed to spend with him and find comfort in knowing that his love and influence will remain in their hearts for generations to come.
He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 9, 2026 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Rivera Funeral Home in McAllen. Cremation will follow under the direction of Rivera Funeral Home.
