Benjamin Underwood Obituary
MCALLEN - Benjamin Alan Underwood, 62, went to be with the Lord Monday, August 31, 2015. Benjamin was born on November 16, 1952 in Northampton, Massachusetts; he is the son of the late Robert O. Underwood and Florence Hearn Underwood.
Benjamin is survived by his loving wife of 36 years: Sanu Chori Khadgi Underwood; children: David and Dennis Underwood; siblings: Robert and Warren Underwood, Sarah Augustyniak and Krystal Fitzgerald.
He served with the Peace Corps and UNICEF in Nepal. His love of beekeeping led him to a PhD in entomology at Cornell University, followed by a career in research and teaching in the Valley.
He was a loving husband, father and brother who will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Rivera Funeral Home in McAllen. The funeral service will be held later this Fall in Massachusetts. Local services have been entrusted to the care of Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen. www.riverafuneralhomes.net
