McAllen, Texas – Candida “Blanca” Aguilar, 90, passed away peacefully on September 27th, surrounded by family. She was born on October 23, 1933, in San Juan, Texas, to the late Reynaldo and Rafaela Ramirez.
Blanca was a devoted great grandmother, grandmother, mother, and friend, known for being a pillar of strength and love. She dedicated her entire career of 42 years to Dickie’s Clothing Company, where she was the only female plant manager at that time. She was recognized with several prestigious awards, including the C.D. Williamson award which was the company’s highest honor. Her commitment and hard work inspired everyone around her.
Family and friends were at the heart of Blanca’s life. She cherished the moments spent with her children and grandchildren and maintained a close bond with her siblings.
Blanca is survived by her loving children, Elizabeth (Jesse) Hernandez, Rosie (Roland) Rodriguez, and Albert (Sonya) Aguilar; her cherished grandchildren, Vanessa, Amy, Christopher, Jessica, and Richard; her great-grandchildren, Scarlet and Harper; and her beloved sisters and brothers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Aguilar, and her brothers, Leonel, Gilberto, Samuel, and Reynaldo Ramirez.
Known for her warm heart and infectious laughter, Blanca touched the lives of everyone she met. She found joy in playing dice games, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and visiting Kansas City, where she created many treasured memories.
The family will hold a private memorial service to honor her legacy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, an organization that was especially meaningful to Blanca.
