Mission ~ Carlos Garcia, 78, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones at his home in Mission. He was born on Sunday, August 26, 1945 in San Juan, Texas, the son of Gilbert and Aurora (Gonzalez) Garcia. He is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother: Gilbert Garcia Jr.
Carlos was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. His generosity with his loved ones will never be forgotten. As an avid outdoorsman Carlos loved to hunt and fish and had an extensive collection of guns, knives, and fishing equipment. Perhaps his most adventurous hunting excursion was hunting elk in Colorado. He loved supporting his sons and grandsons at their football games.
Carlos was a proud 1965 graduate of PSJA High School and he enjoyed reminiscing with his fellow Bears classmates as they met for coffee and laughs at their reunion meetings. He attended Pan American College and retired from Southwestern Bell Phone Company after 35 years with the company. Carlos is a Veteran of the National Guard.
Left to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy is his loving wife: Iselda Garza-Garcia; his sons: Charlie (Veronica) Garcia and Michael Garcia; daughter: Denise Gonzalez; and sister: Estela Salazar; grandchildren: Riza (Rocio), Daniel (Krystan), Tasha, Eric, Michael, Alex (Priscilla), Elysha, Adrian and Christian; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
