McAllen ~ Celestino "Tino" Lopez Jr. entered eternal rest on December 22, 2020 in McAllen, TX. Born in McAllen, he grew up as a migrant farm worker with his two brothers and four sisters. Tino worked as an electrician for the McAllen Independent School District for 20 years and retired in 2016. The consummate family man, Tino loved nothing more than being surrounded by his family and friends. He was a workaholic who loved his job and helping others. On the rare occasion that you found him relaxing, he would be listening to his ranchera music or Elvis Pressley on his porch. Tino was an uncanny comedian who could always make you smile or laugh. He also wasn't afraid to be direct with others when necessary. Tino was an amazing man who lived his life to the fullest and will be missed by all who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Celestino and Angelita, his sister Oralia Figueroa, and his son David C. Lopez.
Tino is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Librada "Libby" Lopez, his daughter Norma (Jeff) Hernandez, his son Danny (Jakki) Lopez, six grandchildren, Xavier, Raena, Michael, Erin, Sara, and Korbin, and one great granddaughter, Sophia; his brothers, Armando (Guadalupe) Lopez and Aurelio (Rosie) Lopez, his sisters, Maruca (Nino) Carrasco, Sylvia Martinez, Leticia Lopez, and San Juanita (Mario) Nava. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
