Consuelo H. Maldonado

McALLEN  - Consuelo (Chelo) Hinojosa – Maldonado, 90, of Parás, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, entered eternal rest to be with our Lord, on March 17, 2025 a her home in McAllen surrounded by her family. Consuelo was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love and compassion. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends and many more whose lives were touched by her. We ask that you remember her not for the way life ended, but for the way it was lived.

Born on December 15, 1934, in Parás, Nuevo Leon, Consuelo was the devoted wife of the late Dionisio Maldonado Canales for 48 years and the loving mother of Consuelo M. Maldonado†, Vilma Maldonado, Gloria M. (Molina), Javier Maldonado, Alma Alicia Maldonado and son-in-law Omar Molina.

Mrs. Maldonado is preceded in death by her parents, Fernando Hinojosa and Teodosia Gutierrez.

She has ten siblings, Arnulfo Maldonado†, Dora Elva Maldonado (Gutierrez)†, Fernando Maldonado†, Cloromiro Maldonado, Mayla Lilia Maldonado (Vela), Onofre Maldonado, Teodosia Maldonado (Trevino)†, Alicia Maldonado (Guevara)†, Gregorio Maldonado, and Maria Del Socorro Maldonado (Resendez); nine grandkids, and four great-grandkids.

Consuelo was a happy sister, grandma and aunt. She loved going dear hunting with her husband Dionisio at the ranch in Paras, she also loved to be surrounded by music at all times and spent time with her family playing loteria.

The family invites you to a service mass to be held in McAllen and to be announce at a later date.

Service arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rivera Funeral Home.
