Cruz S. Bustos

Hidalgo - Mr. Cruz S. Bustos, one day shy from celebrating his 89th birthday, entered eternal rest July 1, 2020 surrounded by his family at the residence of his daughter in San Juan. Cruz was born July 2, 1931 in Mexico to Enrique and Manuela Sifuentes. He proudly served his country with the United States Army from 1954 to 1958. He lived in Hidalgo for most of his life. He enjoyed playing baseball in his younger days. Cruz was a hard working man always providing for his family. He loved watching baseball on TV always faithful to the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers. Cruz S. Bustos will forever be loved and remembered by his family and those that came to know him. He was preceded in death by his first wife: Guadalupe Bustos; his parents; and four siblings.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving family; wife: Maria de los Angeles Bustos; his children: Maria Dolores, Alejandro, Ana Delia, Maria de Pilar, Rocio, Maribel, Eduardo, Roberto and Daniel; brothers: Juan Bustos and Guadalupe Bustos; 23 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law and sons-in-law. 

A gathering of family and friends will be held Sunday, July 5, 2020 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Rivera Funeral Home, 1901 Pecan Blvd in McAllen. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 am Monday, July 6, 2020 at Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen. Interment will be follow at 11:00 am at Hidalgo City Cemetery. Military Honors under the auspices of VFW Post 1065. Service arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen.
 

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and keeping with social distancing orders, all necessary restrictions will be observed in order to protect the health and safety of those in attendance. Wear face coverings while inside building. Continue to practice social distancing while inside the funeral home chapel.
