Daniel Saldaña Obituary

Daniel Andres Saldaña, a beacon of selfless love and boundless creativity, departed this world on December 12, 2024, due to complications from epilepsy. Born in McAllen, Texas, on July 2, 2004, Daniel's journey of 20 years was marked by an unwavering commitment to bring joy and inspiration to everyone he met. He passed away in Edinburg, Texas.

Daniel, affectionately known by those close to him as a loving son, grandson, brother, uncle, and friend is survived by a family that mirrors his generosity and spirit. His father, David Ernesto Saldaña, and Monica Castillo, his mother, Cariño Ime Saldivar-Sandoval and Juan L. Sandoval, his paternal grandparents Joaquin & Neli J. Morales Alvarez, maternal grandparents Manuel Ramiro & Noemi Saldivar Jr, and Celia Perez, bonus grandparents Juan L. & Yolanda Sandoval Sr., and maternal great-grandmother Petra Saldivar all felt the warmth of his love. His siblings David Ernesto Saldaña Jr, Devin Elijah Saldaña, Amanda Soza, Dominick Gonzalez, Luis Ramon Sandoval, Evan Daniel Sandoval, Elma Victoria Sandoval, and Desirae Nichole Castillo, along with nephews Charlie Ezekiel Saldaña and Elijah Elliot Saldaña, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends will forever cherish the memories they made with Daniel.

Daniel's educational journey was marked by a posthumous honor from South Texas College, awarding him a Certificate for Combination Welding, which he had just earned. His alma mater, the proud Warrior class of 2023 from Nikki Rowe H.S., was where he found his welding skills through the FFA program. Daniel's passion for learning and mastering his craft was evident to all who knew him.

In his professional life, Daniel found joy and purpose. He loved working as a trainer at Raising Cane's on N 10th in McAllen, where he felt valued and appreciated. His work ethic and team spirit were also evident during his time at Whataburger, Burger King, and McDonald's. Daniel's enthusiasm and ability to lift the spirits of his colleagues were a hallmark of his character.

Daniel's interests reflected his vibrant and caring personality. He found happiness in playing video games with his dad and connecting with countless friends online. A newfound love for fishing became a cherished pastime, whether he was with family or enjoying the serenity of nature alone. Daniel's compassion extended beyond his circle, as he often shared meals and conversations with the homeless, whom he affectionately referred to as his "homies." He made it his mission to elevate others, encouraging them to pursue their passions and to never abandon their dreams.

The words that best describe Daniel are loving, creative, and selfless. He embodied the essence of these qualities in every interaction, every gesture of kindness, and every word of encouragement. His ability to see the potential in others and to help them see it in themselves was a gift that he gave freely and without reservation.

As a motivational speaker uses the power of words to uplift and inspire, let us remember Daniel's life through the lens of his own uplifting spirit. In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Daniel succeeded in every sense of the word, leaving a legacy of love, inspiration, and joy that will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Daniel Andres Saldaña's life was a testament to the power of positivity and the strength of the human spirit. His journey may have been brief, but the impact of his 20 years will be felt for generations to come. He has left us with a blueprint for a life well-lived, one that is measured not in years, but in the love shared and the lives touched. Daniel, you have succeeded, and your light will shine on.

Those attending his funeral are asked to wear shades of blue, not black, in remembrance of Daniel.
