Domingo Ascencion Leija

Domingo Ascencion Leija, 83, of Corpus Christi, Texas, departed this world to be with Our Father in Heaven on April 7, 2022 in Mission, Texas.

The family will receive condolences on Sunday, April 10, 2022, from 5:00pm – 9:00pm, at Rivera Funeral Home, 1813 N. Conway Ave. Mission, TX 78572

Domingo Leija was born in Corpus Christi, Texas to Jose Leyja and Aurora Hernandez on May 29, 1938.  He had a trade in welding for many years. He was a Godly Christian man who served in different churches throughout his life. He loved the Lord and also loved his children, always praying and celebrating for his family. He was active in his community loving on people.

“Don’t let your heart be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? If I go away and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to myself, so that where I am you may be also.” John 14:1-3

Domingo trusted in the Lord with all his heart and knew he would be with Him someday. Amen!

He is preceded in death by his mother, Aurora Pena, sister Cruz Martinez and his children, Larry Leija, Lucy Quintanilla and Eddie Leija. Also one grand daughter Zhyra Leija.

Domingo is survived by his siblings, Maria Pedraza and Roberto Carranza. Also his children, Joe Lee Leija, Domingo Leija, Adrian Leija, Hopie Leija, Gene Leyja, Leonard Leija, Joseph Leija, Aaron Leija and 23 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
