Doroteo Fonseca, Jr.

Hidalgo ~ Doroteo Fonseca, Jr., 80, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at McAllen Heart Hospital. He was born on Thursday, December 7, 1944 in Hidalgo, Texas, the son of Doroteo Fonseca, Sr. and Paula Segovia. He is preceded in death by his parents: Doroteo and Paula Fonseca; and two sisters: Belia and Elias.

Doroteo is survived by sister: Mary Stevens (William); his loving wife: San Juana (Santillan) Fonseca; children: Doroteo III (Marisa), Marisa (Samuel), Melissa (Noe), and Marlen (Jamie); grandchildren: Christina (Vicente), Doroteo IV (Dora), Karina, Jorge (Stephanie), Rolando, Angel, Celeste and Nydia; great-grandchildren: Mateo, Noah, and Doroteo V.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm Sunday, August 10, 2025 with the Holy Rosary being recited at 7:00 pm at Rivera Funeral Home, 1901 Pecan Blvd., McAllen. Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 9:00 am Monday, August 11, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 208 E. Camelia Ave., Hidalgo. Interment will follow at 11:00 am at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. 

Service arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen.
