McAllen ~ Eduardo Javier Garza, 47 years old, entered eternal rest Monday, September 27, 2021 at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen after a courageous battle with cancer. Eduardo was born July 27, 1974 in McAllen to Hector J. Garza and Maria Josefina Rojas. Eddie, as he was known to many, lived in Hidalgo and McAllen, Texas where he attended McAllen schools and received his GED. He loved to cook, especially BBQ for his family and would step up as a cook for numerous family social events and gatherings. He worked as a cook/prep in restaurants and as a warehouse worker before becoming disabled. Eddie also helped to tend with loving care and patience for both of his terminally ill parents. Eddie lived life to its fullest. He will forever be remembered and loved by his family. RIP
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents; his step-brother, Hector L. Garza and his step-sister, Maria Alma Garza.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved family; his wife, Norma A. Salinas; sisters, Maria L. Rios, Mary Castro, Nora E. Rojas Castillo, Soila Garza Aleman and (Alfonso); step-sister, Janie Griego; brothers, Juan Gabriel Garza and (Carmen) and Luis Rolando Garza; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and step-granddaughters.
.A gathering of family and friends will take place Sunday, October 3, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the recital of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Rivera Funeral Home, 1901 Pecan Blvd. in McAllen. Funeral services will be Monday, October 4, 2021 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in McAllen. Service arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen.
