Elida G Gonzales

 Elida G. Gonzales, 80 years old, entered eternal rest surrounded by her loving family on March 14, 2020.  Elida was born on April 09, 1939 in Benavides, Duvall County, Texas to the late Ruperto and Nazaria Garcia. Elida enjoyed traveling with family, engaging in charity events, loved dancing, family gatherings and life itself. Elida was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church of McAllen. Elida truly lived life to its fullest. She will be missed dearly by her family and those that came to know her. 

Elida is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband: Antonio V. Gonzales; her infant son: Antonio Gonzales, Jr. ;Her siblings: Gloria Silva, Linda Lerma and Rupert Garcia.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Linda Franco, Maria L. Salinas (Rolando), Silvia Velazquez (Santiago), Diana G. Craig, Dora G. Borrego (Ricardo), Alicia Gonzales, Antonio Gonzales,Jr. and Ralph Gonzales; Her siblings: Irma Garcia, Yolanda Nerio, Dora A. Lopez, Arturo Garcia and Armando Garcia; 20 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends will be Monday, March 16, 2020 at Rivera Funeral Home, 1901 Pecan Blvd. from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm with the recital of the Holy Rosary to begin at 7:00 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church of McAllen. Interment will follow to Valley Memorial Gardens cemetery.

Funeral services are being handled by Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen.
