Eric Cardoza

Eric Cardoza was born April 16, 1985 in Mission, Texas and was called to heaven on July 23, 2022. Eric is survived by both his parents Noemi ‘Mimi” Lerma and Ricardo Cardoza, his brother Ricardo ‘Javy’ Cardoza Jr (Celena) and was the proud uncle of RJ and Sebastian Cardoza. He leaves great sadness in the hearts of his maternal grandmother Julia Lerma and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Eric had an extended family at AT&T Mobile and Business Solutions McAllen, Texas where he was employed.

Eric was a proud Eagle, having graduated from Mission High School in 2003. Eric was a loving and gentle giant. He seemed to always have an uncanny way of knowing when to check in on his loved ones and closest friends. He wanted to let them know that he was there to help, listen and support without passing judgement. He was a BIG Brother to all with a BIG heart! He was a caring friend to all who came to know him. He opened his heart and offered genuine friendship. He loved spending time with his family, playing with his nephews, hanging out around the bbq pit with his buddies, especially his BFF’s whom he called brothers. Eric will always be remembered for his charming personality, disarming good looks, contagious laugh and welcoming smile.

Eric is preceded in death by maternal grandfather Jesus Lerma, paternal grandparents Celso & Benita Cardoza and his four-legged companion Kai.

Services have been entrusted to Rivera Funeral Home in Mission, Texas and will be held on Thursday, July 28th with viewing from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm and a rosary service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 29th at 9:00 am at El Divino Redentor Church, 1020 Los Ebanos Rd. in Mission thereafter, graveside services will be at San Jose Catholic Cemetery in Mission, Texas. Serving as pallbearers are: Ricardo Cardoza, Ricardo ‘Javy’ Cardoza, Jr, Albert & Anthony Chavez, Peter Fontecha, Jesus ‘Tio Gordo’ Lerma Jr & JT Lerma, Jose Calderon and Bernie Mata.
