Eva Reyna Obituary

We are gathered in the loving memory of a remarkable soul, our beloved Eva Reyna, who was called home to the Lord on March 24, 2024, at the age of 89. Born on September 25, 1934, in the heart of Mexico, Eva brought light and joy into this world and continued to spread her radiance in McAllen, Texas, where she was called to rest.

Eva, a name synonymous with love and dedication, was the matriarch of a vast family that revered her deeply. She leaves behind her cherished children, David Reyna, Juan Reyna, Minu Flores, and Myrna Reyna. Her legacy flourishes through her 19 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a spark of her spirit.

Eva was a woman of profound resilience, completing her GED with determination and grace. She was not just a businesswoman but a lifelong learner who embraced the challenge of English classes later in life. Eva's involvement in her community was marked by her steadfast participation as a catechist and church lector, roles in which she touched many lives with her wisdom and faith.

Her home was a sanctuary where the simple pleasures of watering her plants and the rhythmic dance of her knitting needles were acts of meditation and love. Eva was a beacon of the virtues she held dear: loving, faith-filled, and selfless. She gave of herself without expectation, her life a testament to the beauty of service to others.

As we bid farewell to Eva, we are reminded of the words of the Apostle Paul, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." (2 Timothy 4:7). Eva indeed fought the good fight, her faith unwavering, her heart ever expansive.

To have known Eva Reyna was to have witnessed a life lived in full bloom, a life that will continue to inspire and guide us. As we celebrate her journey, we take comfort in knowing that she now rests in the eternal embrace of our Heavenly Father, a faithful servant called to her everlasting home.
