Gerald Aranda was born September 15th 1978 in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon Mexico and passed away suddenly October 4th, 2021. Gerald attended Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon where he studied Law, however his true passion was in Journalism getting his start in Canal 28 kick starting his 27 year career.
Prior to moving to the U.S., he worked as a breaking news video journalist for TV Azteca’s national newscast and as a producer for Televisa Monterrey in Mexico. He joined Telemundo San Antonio as a news producer. He was later hired as anchor and producer at Telemundo New Mexico and Lubbock, before moving to Telemundo Las Vegas as executive producer. He also worked as anchor at Univision Corpus Christi and executive producer for KRGV’s Noticias del Valle. He just recently began reporting for Breitbart News.
His friends remember him as someone that was capable of laughing even in the worst moments, seeing that things would always change for the better. They remember him as a boss, coworker, colleague who did not limit himself to helping when they needed him. “The news lost an excellent reporter and investigator. But more importantly, he was a very good man, an excellent father and son, and the most caring and lovely husband.”
He was a dedicated son, a loving husband and a proud father. He loved to travel along with his family, visit new places and enjoy the best local food. He never stopped planning the adventures they would have together and simply lived to love his family.
Gerald is survived by his wife Luisana; his son, Gerardo Moreno (Jerry) and his mother Rogelia Aranda; as well as his extended family and an abundance of friends.
We will all miss him more than words can say. <3
