McAllen ~ It comes with great sorrow to announce that on November 24, 2022 at approximately 3:15 am, Gilbert M. Leveck went to rest with the Lord. He was many this to us all. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, after working for 35 years, he retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a beloved father, grandfather, husband, brother, uncle, father-in-law and friend. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Evangelina Zamora Leveck; brothers, Pete Leveck, Federico (Fred) Leveck and Samuel Leveck. Gilbert loved his family unconditionally with all his heart.
Left to cherish his memories is his twin sister, Bertha Leveck Mendiola (Ramon); his sons, Gil Bert Leveck (Virginia) and Michael Leveck; daughters, Gilda Lynn Leveck Castro (Lauro) and Velma Leveck Linares (Sergio); his grandchildren Lauro Jesus Castro (Betsy), Gilbert Anthony Castro (Yezenia), Matthew Leveck (Canyesa) and Benjamin Christopher Leveck; and 7 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gilbert was taken too soon but will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and love.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm Wednesday, November 30, 2022 with a Holy Rosary being recited at 7:00 pm at Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen. Interment will follow at 11:00 am at Rio Grande Valley State Veteran's Cemetery in Mission. Funeral services have been entrusted to Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen.
