Gloria Cantú Fernández, conocida cariñosamente por todos como Ama, falleció pacíficamente el 27 de septiembre de 2024, a la edad de 76 años, en McAllen, Texas. Nacida el 25 de agosto de 1948 en China, Nuevo León, México, la vida de Gloria fue un testimonio de su espíritu amoroso, desinteresado y generoso. Ama era un faro de calidez y familiaridad en su comunidad; su presencia era una constante reconfortante para aquellos que la conocían. Sus mañanas se caracterizaron por el simple placer de saborear el café y el pan, un ritual que parecía prepararla para las alegrías del día. Gloria encontró una inmensa felicidad al aire libre, a menudo sentada fuera de su casa, interactuando con vecinos que se convirtieron en una familia extendida para ella. Gloria found immense happiness in the outdoors, often sitting outside her house, engaging with neighbors who became an extended family to her.
