McAllen ~ Ismael Rodriguez, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully in his hometown of McAllen, Texas on December 5, 2025, at the age of 62. Born on December 25, 1962 to loving parents Eloy and Maria Teresa (Sanchez) Rodriguez, Ismael's life was a testament to his generous spirit, courageous heart, and vibrant character.
Ismael proudly served his country in the US Army from 1981 to 1985 and continued his service in the reserves until 1987. His dedication to his nation was paralleled only by his commitment to his family and community.
Ismael married his high school sweetheart Nati TreviƱo and they had two beautiful children Vannety Hulsey (Josh) and Vannessa Reyes (Jacob). After a separation, Ismael met and married Rita (Tamayo) Rodriguez and they had two amazing children together Ismael Jr. Rodriguez (Alejandra) and Thereasa Dukquits (Dylan).
Ismael's legacy includes his beloved siblings, Yolanda Rodriguez Fuentes, Imelda R. Singh, Eddie Rodriguez, and the late Eloy Rodriguez. His life was further enriched by the joy of his 11 grandchildren, who will forever cherish their memories with their adoring grandfather.
Those who knew Ismael were touched by his spirited nature and his ability to bring warmth and comfort to any gathering. His generosity knew no bounds, as he often went out of his way to help others in need. Visitation for Ismael Rodriguez will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a prayer service at 6:30 pm. The funeral mass will take place at 11:30 am on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in McAllen, Following the mass, Ismael will be laid to rest with honors at Valley Memorial Gardens, where his spirit will continue to watch over his loved ones.
Ismael's life journey, from his humble beginnings in McAllen to his final days surrounded by family, was marked by an unwavering spirit and a heart full of courage. He leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and an indomitable zest for life that will forever be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
