Jae Hyun Jang

Jae Hyun Jang, who was born on July 20, 1970, in Daegu, South Korea, and passed away on March 31, 2026, in McAllen, Texas. He lived a life marked by intelligence, wisdom, dedication, and quiet strength. Jae carried himself with dignity and purpose, and he touched the lives of many through his kindness, thoughtful nature, and steady presence. 

Jae pursued his education with determination and discipline, earning a master’s degree in Accounting/Education. His commitment to learning reflected the values that guided him throughout his life. He believed in the importance of knowledge, hard work, perseverance, and these principles shaped both his personal and professional journey. His education was not only a source of accomplishment but also a foundation for the wisdom he shared with those around him. Jae was devoted to teaching as a math at DeLeon Middle School in McAllen. He understood the importance of helping students build confidence in their abilities, and he took pride in guiding them toward success. 

Above all else, Jae Hyun Jang was devoted to his family. He is preceded in death by his father, Jungpal Jang. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Angulo-Jang; his mother, Hunjoo Lee; his sister, Yoonsun Jang; and his brother, Minseok Jang. He left a step-son: Adrian I. Martinez and three step-grandchildren: Adrian Isaiah Martinez-13, Adrian Isai Martinez- 10, and Anastasia Isabella Martinez- 1; his beloved in-laws: Mr. and Mrs. Juan Angulo. They loved him as a son and were they for him until the end. He cherished the bonds of family and carried the relationships with him throughout his life. His family was a source of strength and meaning throughout his life, and he remained devoted to them in all that he did.

Jae Hyun Jang will be remembered not only for his accomplishments, but also for the character he demonstrated each day through his humility, integrity, and devotion to others.

Visitation hours will be held from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm Monday, April 6, 2026 at Rivera Funeral Home, 1901 Pecan Blvd., McAllen.
