McAllen ~ John A. Alaniz, 70, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at Mission Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on Thursday, August 6, 1953 in Lubbock, Texas, the son of Evaristo Alaniz and Minerva (Diaz) Alaniz. John graduated from Mission High School and studied cosmetology with the love for becoming a hairdresser. His talent took him to several salons before he went into partnership and became an owner of Illusions Hair Salon in McAllen. John loved his clients, friends and family. He would always have a joke and a laugh to share with them. His love for life and a heart of gold will be missed. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister: Sylvia Silguero.
He is survived by his siblings: Arthur Alaniz (Linda), Mary Alfaro, Rudy Alaniz, Yolanda Sandoval (Joel), Eva Bridgewater (Fiancé, Jim) and Norma Sandoval (Hiram).
Private services have been entrused to the care of Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen.
