Jorge Del Toro Obituary

In Loving Memory of Jorge Del Toro
September 17, 1952 – April 30, 2025

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Jorge Del Toro, a loving husband, devoted father, cherished brother, and faithful friend, who entered eternal rest on April 30, 2025, in McAllen, Texas, at the age of 72.  His passing leaves a deep and lasting ache in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Born on September 17, 1952, Jorge lived a life defined by quiet strength, unwavering love, and enduring faith. Jorge shared an unbreakable bond with his beloved wife, Sofia. Their marriage was a testament to deep companionship, mutual respect, and unwavering devotion. They were partners in every sense, navigating life together with tenderness, humor, and strength. Their love was the foundation of a family grounded in closeness and care.

As a father to Jorge Jr., Arnold, and Crystal, Jorge was steady, loving, and endlessly supportive. He took pride in their lives and guided them with wisdom and humility, always leading by quiet example.  He found deep joy in the rhythm of family life—in morning routines, shared meals, inside jokes, and the comfort of being together. Jorge’s sense of humor was one of his many gifts; he loved to laugh and could bring levity to any room with just a glance or a well-timed remark.

Jorge was also incredibly close to his siblings, with whom he shared a tight-knit, lifelong bond. Their connection was one of deep loyalty, shared history, and enduring affection. His role as a brother was central to his life, and the closeness they shared remained strong until the very end.

Jorge will be remembered not only for the love he gave but for the way he lived—with gentleness, humor, and a heart wide open to those around him. His legacy lives on in the strength of his family and in the countless lives he touched with quiet compassion.

He is survived by his wife, Sofia, and their three children, Jorge, Arnold and Crystal; his beloved siblings: Rames Del Toro, Flor Del Toro, Irma Del Toro-Salas; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Del Toro, Angelina Del Toro, and siblings, Ofelia Del Toro and Romelio Del Toro.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Rivera Funeral Home in McAllen, Texas, between 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., with a rosary held at 7:30 p.m. All who loved Jorge are invited to gather in remembrance and thanksgiving for his life.

We take comfort in the promise of Scripture:
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death, or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” – Revelation 21:4
