On Saturday July 30, 2022, Jorge Javier Ibarra went to be with the Lord peacefully in his home in Hidalgo, Texas after a short battle with cancer. He was 73 years old.
Jorge is survived by his wife Olga Alicia Ochoa Ibarra; three sons Xavier Ibarra of Jarrell TX, Jorge Ibarra and Imanol Ibarra of Hidalgo, TX, two daughters Trish Rendon of Pflugerville, TX, and Sarah Rendon of Alamo TX, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Jorge was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, Tio, primo and friend. Jorge had seven brothers and two sisters and was preceded in death by his parents Manuel Ibarra and Ma.de Jesus Alejos Ibarra of San Fernando, MX.
Jorge was born on December 26, 1948, in San Fernando, MX and attended school in Mexico, before moving to the United States in search of better opportunities. His whole career was devoted to the restaurant business. He married his wife of 27 years to Olga Alicia Ochoa Ibarra on October 7, 1994. Jorge was a loved member of the community and enjoyed grilling, fishing, working in his yard, home improvements, spending time with his family and was a big boxing and soccer fan. He enjoyed his 4AM coffee and cigarettes before his morning walks. Jorge had a contagious smile and personality which made everyone around him feel like family from the first moment you meet him. His presence was known when he walked in the room, from his laughter, his jokes, and his small “life” lessons he wanted to share. The love he had for his family and friends was felt by all. On behalf of our family, we would like to sincerely thank you for your thoughts and continued prayers.
A viewing for Jorge Javier Ibarra is scheduled for Tuesday August 2, 2022, at Rivera Funeral Home in McAllen, TX from 4PM-9PM with a prayer service at 7PM. Flowers/plants can be sent to 1901 Pecan Blvd. McAllen, TX 78501
