Mr. Jose Jesus Hernandez,74, entered eternal rest June 29, 2020 at the McAllen Medical Center. Jose was born May 19, 1946 in Mexico to Guadalupe and Maria Refugio (Almanza) Hernandez. Jose lived in Hidalgo for most of his life. He enjoyed to read, where he had a great collection of books. He loved doing woodwork, carving wood to make numerous walking canes. He loved family gatherings. He truly lived life to its fullest.

Jose was preceded in death by his parents; His son Edel Hernandez; His siblings Maria Guadalupe Vega and Margarita Silguero.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife Juana Gallegos Hernandez; His children Alberto Hernandez, Omar Hernandez, Edgar Hernandez, Lilia Hernandez-Williams, lliana Hernandez, Ulisses Hernandez, Huriel Hernandez; Anita Ramos, Maria De la Luz Hernandez, Maria Inocencio Trevino, Irma Noe; 11 grandchildren , 9 great grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday, July 2,2020 at Rivera Funeral Home,1901 Pecan Blvd from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with the recital of the Holy Rosary to begin at 6:00 pm. Funeral services will be Friday, July 3, 2020 at 11:30 am at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Cemetery in Pharr.
