Josefa Alaniz

Josefa Alaniz,69, entered eternal rest Monday, December 16, 2019 surrounded by her family at her home in McAllen. Josefa was born on September 6, 1950 in Mexico to Julian and Juanita Estrada. Josefa was a long time resident of McAllen. She was a very strong willed , happy, and lovable person. Josefa lived her life for her grandchildren and her children. She believed in God and her faith carried her through life 's most difficult time. Josefa truly lived her life to its fullest.

Josefa Alaniz is survived by her loving family; Children- David Alaniz, Adam Alaniz, Henry Alaniz, Jessica Marie Alaniz, Raul Alaniz; Brothers and Sisters- Sara Estrada, Nena Alaniz, Jela Rendon, Julia Estrada, Rebecca Vasquez, Martha, Epifanio, Felix, Emiterio; 15 grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends will take place Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Rivera Funeral Home, 1901 Pecan Blvd., in McAllen from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. A celebration of life service will be Friday, December 20, 2019 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow to La Piedad cemetery in McAllen.
