Josefa H. Alanís

Josefa H. Alanís, age 79, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in McAllen, Texas. She was born on October 31, 1945, in Control, Tamaulipas, Mexico to Severo Hinojosa and Celia Adame. In 1970, she married Juan Alanís, and together they shared 55 years of marriage.

She is survived by her six children, Juan Gerardo (Gabriela), Ramón Eduardo, Beatriz Elena, Jesús Alberto, Nancy Contreras (Ray), and David Alanís.  She is survived by her siblings Magdalena Hinojosa, Ana Celia Luna, Nora Guajardo, Alma Delia Sánchez, Miguel Hinojosa, Laura Ramos and Nora Guajardo and her 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers Severo Hinojosa and Sergio Hinojosa.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 25, at 11:00 AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church  2201 Martin Ave. McAllen, Texas, followed by burial at La Piedad Cemetery. She will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
